ARTISTS FINALLY GET CLOSER TO COPYRIGHTING THEIR WORK
In favour of growing artist concerns about increasing piracy of their works which leads to lower profit margins the, government has announced starting from 1st January, 2013, Artists work to be stamped by TRA and formalized.
If implemented well,  this might really help to put an end to piracy of bongo artists’ work in the  country.

alipokuwa akisoma budgeti ya 2012-2013 alipendekeza  kufanya maabadiliko
 in the Excise (Management & Tariff) Act CAP 147, in  which we will 
introduce excise duty on music and film products among others.
The excise duty on  music and film products such as 
DVD, VCD, CD, Video Tape and Audio Tape is  aimed at assisting operators
 in this subsector to formalize their business.
“This measure is  aimed at assisting operators in 
this subsector to formalize their businesses,  prevent piracy of the 
artist works and enable them to benefit from their  works,” he told the 
National Assembly on Thursday.He said the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), will issue stamps for the products in order to control production and earn revenue to both the government and operators
