Kundi la music toka kenya lachaguliwa kuwania tuzo za BET Marekani

It’s that time of year again. And, as the buzz for the Billboard Music Awards slowly dwindles, the official nominations for the 2012 BET Awards are now in. This time around the crew which told you to keep it ‘FRESH OL DAY’, Camp Mulla (a Kenyan hip hop group) has been nominated at the BET 2012 Awards under the BEST INTERNATIONAL ACTS AFRICA category. Hii nomination inakuja almost two days baada yakufanya bonge mmoja la performance at the Big Brother eviction party to the delight of Africa. They, however, face competition from various artists across Africa under the same category. These include Nigeria’s Wizkid and Ice Prince; Ghana’s Azonto Ambassador, Sarkodie; South African Afro-Soul sensation, Lira; and the Francophone Rapper Extraordinaire, Mali’s Mokobe. Camp Mulla has grown a big fanbase over a short period, already having over 32,500 fans on Facebook, over 26,000 followers on Twitter (more than any other successful Tanzanian/ Kenyan artist or group). The 2012 BET Awards is slated to air live on July 1st, 2012 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. This year’s host is no other than the highest grossing actor of all time, the beloved Samuel L. Jackson. With performances from Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj confirmed and the A-List of celebrities slated to attend, this year’s show is going to be nothing short of a breath-taking star-studded event. Even though, Camp Mulla has a good chance of winning this award, we cannot underestimate the level of the other artists in the category. Will CAMP MONEY bring it home? We can only wait in tense anticipation to find out, as well as wish all nominees the best of luck. Congrats Camp Mulla. Now go get us East Africans THAT BET AWARD!
